In short: Ocean Connect FZE coordinates hull blasting and painting for ships in Dubai and the UAE, including grit and hydro blasting, antifouling and hull coating application, ballast and cargo tank coating, and topside and deck painting – in dry dock or afloat – following the coating manufacturer’s specification.
The right surface preparation decides how long a coating lasts. We follow the paint maker’s technical data sheet, record surface profile, humidity and film thickness, and work with the owner’s or paint maker’s inspector.
Grit (abrasive) and hydro blasting to the specified standard.
Application of anticorrosive and antifouling systems in dry dock.
Ballast, fresh water and cargo tank blasting and coating.
Superstructure, deck and hatch cover painting – including afloat.
Surface profile, DFT, humidity and dew point records for each stage.
Draft marks, load lines, names and IMO numbers.

Even the best coating will fail early if the surface is not prepared correctly. Blasting removes old coating, rust and contamination and creates the surface profile the new paint needs to bond. We follow the coating manufacturer’s technical data sheet for the blasting standard and profile.
Weather matters too. Temperature, humidity and dew point are checked before and during application, and coats are applied only when conditions are within the specification.

Each stage is checked and recorded so the owner and paint maker can confirm the work:
A clear, step-by-step approach so you always know what happens next.
We inspect the coating condition and agree the areas and standard.
Coating system and quantities confirmed with the paint maker.
Work is done in controlled conditions with stage inspections.
A coating report is handed over for the vessel records.
Close to the yards, suppliers and authorities, for fast mobilisation across UAE ports.
One phone number for emergencies, day or night, with a coordinator who owns the job.
Engineers, fitters and welders with long experience in UAE ship repair and operations.
Permit-to-work, method agreed up front and a report with photos when the job is done.

Topsides, decks and superstructures can be painted afloat. Underwater hull blasting and antifouling require dry docking.
Antifouling is normally renewed at each dry docking, typically every 30 to 60 months depending on the coating system and trading pattern.
Grit blasting uses abrasive media to clean steel and create a surface profile. Hydro blasting uses very high-pressure water, which avoids abrasive dust and is often used for maintenance or where existing profile can be reused.
Yes. We coordinate blasting and coating of ballast, fresh water and cargo tanks, with ventilation, dehumidification and access arranged for safe work.
